                         THIS MONTH'S FOOD TIPS

How to Use a Food  Thermometer

Use a food thermometer to check the internal temperature toward the end of the cooking time, but before the food is supposed to be done.

The food thermometer should be placed in the thickest part of the meat and should not be touching bone or fat.

Make sure to wash your food thermometer with hot, soapy water before and after each use.

There are many types of food thermometers, so follow the instructions for your specific food thermometer.

USDA Recommended Safe Minimum Internal Temperatures
