Submitted by The Sensible Cook I don’t know where the original recipe came from (perhaps Hershey’s might be a good guess). I reduced the sugar down to keep this great cookie close to the original, but with fewer calories. I promise that you won’t miss the extra sugar. These are perfectly sweet. 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter 1/3 cup sugar 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 egg 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 2 cups flour 1/2 cup sugar (for rolling) 24 Hershey’s chocolate kisses Cream the first 6 ingredients until light and fluffy. Mix in the baking soda and the salt. Gradually add in flour until mixed well. Form into small balls and roll in sugar. Place on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Flatten slightly. Bake at for 8-12 minutes, just until the cookies are dry and set. They will barely be browned. As soon as you remove cookies from oven, press the chocolate kisses into the center of the cookie. Remove to a wire rack and cool completely.
